How to get your copy of Darklords set up for e-mail play

SUMMARY

To play Darklords by e-mail all players must have the same version. The latest version is 1.02 and this page explains how to upgrade.

Note: If you need a copy of Darklords then e-mail Batz!

PROCEDURE

1. Install Darklords either in the default location:

   C:\Program Files\Red Orb Entertainment\Warlords III - Darklords Rising

   Or in a location of your choice e.g. D:\games\darklords

   This folder will henceforth be called the Darklords folder.

2. Install WinZip.

   You can use pretty much any version of WinZip, it doesn't seem to have changed much since I first started using it a version 5 or so.

   I like to use the Classic interface rather than the Wizard interface. I think it is much easier to understand. I will assume you are using Classic for the purposes of these instructions.

3. Download the UK Version 1.02 upgrade from the Downloads page.
   

4. When downloaded unzip the upgrade file* to the Darklords folder. When WinZip asks about overwriting the files you must agree to overwrite.
   
   *If you have downloaded the 2 files then just unzip one, then the other in the same way.

5. Run the game and check to make sure that on the main menu screen the version number is v1.02.

6. That's it!
