How to Make an Army (.PGS file)

Summary

You can play with a standard army or side but it is more fun to make your own army up.

There are some rules governing the make up of your army. These were introduced to counter 'super-armies' like Dodz's The Maiden.

Click here to see the army rules.

Once you have understood the rules read on to create your army and turn it into a file you can submit to your gamesmaster.

Procedure

  1. From the main menu (shown below) choose 'New Scenario'

  2. After you have chosen your scenario (it doesn't matter which one) you will arrive at this screen.

Click on the 'gem' shown here with the red arrow.

  3. This screen will appear:

Type the name of your side in the box (Pink Orcs in this case) and click 'New'.

Click on your new side in the list and click on 'Edit' the following screen will appear:

Use this screen to create your side.

Left click on a unit to change it and the following screen will appear with basic information on the units.

Pick your units from this list.

  4. Remember to not go above 2000 points and leave yourself some money so that if you take a city on your first turn you can afford to buy some production!

When you are finished click on 'Okay'. You may be asked if you want to overwrite the side with your new side, choose Okay.

Now click on begin play and if you like you can play a few game turns with your army to check they are up to scratch. However you don't need to, that's up to you!

When you have been through the actions above you will end up with a file for your side called: pink orcs.PGS or whatever. The file is stored in your darklords directory in the pgs sub-directory e.g.

    C:\darklords\pgs\pink orcs.PGS

Attach the file to an e-mail (no need to zip it, it is only 1K!) and send it to your gamesmaster. He will use these army files to build the game.
